One of my favourite product areas is the dress. Here is a small glimpse of what are the key trends for SS19 for this key area. As a freelance childrenswear designer I often collate reports for clients specialising in trends, colours, key shapes, prints/graphics/embroideries, fabrics & trims. This is just a small example of what I love producing for my clients.
Dot To Dot London Kicked off its SS19 schedule with a variety of creative and inspiring brands. It was my first time at the show and I wasn't disappointed... The Vinyl Factory was a perfect venue as its central London location made it easy to get to. The show's intimate, industrial atmosphere created a nice canvas for all the exhibitors!
I loved the diverse mix of brands and products: supercute kids accessories by Rock me Kids, handcrafted origami inspired nursery essentials by Little.B, sustainable lovely shoes by Arcas Bear, most beautiful luxury newborn gift sets by Charlotte Mathieu, the super softness and cuteness of organic baby clothes by Organic Zoo to name a few.
Its boutique atmosphere allowed newcomers such as Ginger Dude (unisex/bright/UV protection swimwear), Twingledust ( beautiful baby -4yrs British made play clothes), For Wild Things (unisex monochrome cool kids clothes), Little Borne (seasonless, unisex essentials),Lillan Gorillan ( sustainable, fun, swedish separates) to shine and spread their wings!
Favourites included Their Nibs for its beautiful, boho whimsical dresses in delicate botanical prints and embroideries. Tootsa for the super cool surfer/ sea inspired prints on essential ethically produced separates. 4 Funky flavours for its sustainable, quirkiness and inspiring styling , amazing directional prints and bold colour combinations. Spanish brand Violeta & Frederico for its lovely details and textures on beautiful separates for boys and girls. Mini Stitches for its big impact: This brand provides free training in garment production for women out of work around East London. Mini stitches empowers women while they are creating awesome kids clothes, what not to LOVE?????
Overall, I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the show and the friendliness of the exhibitors. On first approach I felt like I knew them for ages and they were all very happy to talk and make the time for little old me. I guess at the end of the day we were all there for the love of fashion and kidswear design!!!!

Happy Valentines everyone!!! Love is the inspiration behind this sweet pretty print. I love designing prints like this; delicate, romantic, floral. The "Primrose" dress that I design is my take on the "Little House on the Prairie" Era that seems to filtered through in Fashion this Spring.Read More
